On October 30, 2025, Mr. Piboonsak Kittitornkun, Deputy Mayor of Phuket City Municipality, attended the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) – Gastronomy cluster meeting. Joining him were Mr. Niti Petpradubsakul, Secretary to the Mayor of Phuket City, Mr.Chalermporn Piyanarongrojn, Municipal Clerk, along with officials from the Division of Tourism and Sports, Phuket City Municipality. The meeting took place in Mérida, Mexico.

The event was held from October 30 to November 1, 2025, and brought together member cities from the UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy around the world. The delegation from Phuket City Municipality presented the city’s initiatives and development strategies under the theme “Youth, Education & the Future of Gastronomy.” The presentation highlighted the role of youth, education, and the future of creative gastronomy, reflecting Phuket’s potential, readiness, and commitment as one of UNESCO’s Creative Cities of Gastronomy.

Participation in this meeting was of great importance in enhancing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and strengthening international collaboration networks. These efforts play a key role in driving Phuket toward becoming a sustainable creative gastronomy city and in elevating the province’s profile on the global stage.
